More Efficient FR Agents for Flexible PUR Foam

.Two new flame retardants for flexible urethane foam are said to be JV significantly more efficient than their predecessors.Firemaster i C 600 and 602 from Chemtura Corp.,Middlebury,Conn.,are phosphorus-bromine diphenyl ethers(BDEs),like the older Firemaster 550 and 552.However,the new grades are said to permit about 10% lower use levels and to exhibit outstanding scorch resistance,rainimal effect on foam processing or physical properties,as well as a favorable environmental profile.Grade 602 is specifically recommended for mechanically cooled foams.
