A new shaftless turret slitter/winder makes individual stretch-film rolls 4-,5-or 6-up directly in-line with film production,thus saving the secondary step of rewinding from a master roll.The novel concept behind the Winder 3000 from SML Extrusion Technology Inc.,Kennesaw,Ga.,is that instead of winding one long core supported by turrets on either end,it winds four to six individual cores,held on the ends by three to five thin supporting arms.
