The Perfecseal unit of Bemis Flexible Packaging in New London,Wis.,is coextruding a new seven-layer,nylon-core peelable film for medical lid-stock.Said to be the first of its kind,this HP-EZ Peel is aimed at high-volume,price-sensitive packaging of medical products like hypodermic needles and syringes.It's 3 mils thick and more puncture resistant than competing 4-mil peelable HDPE films.
