Lightweighting Technologies Highlight Automotive Composites Conference

Lightweighting was the theme throughout the SPE's 15th Automotive Composites Conference & Exhibition (ACCE). And with good reason: In 2011, the Obama administration announced new vehicle fuel-efficiency standards that require cars and light-duty trucks to average 54.5 mpg by 2025. Since then, every automotive manufacturer has raced to pursue light-weighting strategies.
