New PAEK-Based Composites for Aerospace

A new famity of carbon fiber reinforced polyaryletherketone (PAEK) composites for the aerospace industry is offered by Victrex (U.S. office in West Conshohocken, Pa.) in the form of unidirectional (UD) tape and laminate panels. The Victrex AE250 composites allow production of continuously-reinforced components that reportedly perform exceptionally under load. Targeted are components of aircraft primary and secondary structures, including brackets, clips, clamps, and housings.
