BASF & Korea's Kolon to Build World's Largest Acetal Production Complex

A 50-50 joint venture between BASF, Florham Park, N.J., and Korea's Kolon Plastics will result in the world's largest polyacetal (POM) resin production complex. Slated for startup in the second half of 2018, the nearly 155-million Ib/yr facility will be located at Kolons' manufacturing site in Gimcheon, Korea. Kolon is Korea's sole engineering plastics producer.
