From hot runners to self-cleaning PET preform molds to 3D-printed plastic cavity inserts, there was plenty of cutting-edge tooling technology on display at NPE2015 in Orlando, Fla., in March. In hot runners, key themes were data storage in the "cloud," individual adjustability of valve-gate opening and closing, and multi-tip nozzles for molding long, thin, tubular products such as medical pipettes and syringes.
