Coex PE Pipe Line Has 4-Ft OD

Tecnomatic of San Paolo, Italy, recently commissioned what it says is the Middle East's first-ever multi-layer PE pipe line sized at 1200-mm (4-ft) O.D. The system, built for Muna Noor of Oman, can operate at throughputs up to 4400 Ib/hr. Three-layer pipe produced on the line is said to be well suited to Oman and other Middle Eastern countries, where poor and stony soils can produce high stresses in the pipe wall. Muna Noor produces the pipe using high-stress-crack-resistant (HSCR) grades of PE, notably BorSaf HE3490-LS-H HSCR PE100 from Borouge, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, a joint venture of Borealis in Austria and Abu Dhabi National Oil Co.
