Brookfield Engineering, Middleboro, Mass., has introduced the model DV1, the company's lowest-cost, continuous-sensing digital viscometer. It also sports a new appearance from top to bottom. The head of the unit has a new shape and larger, easy-to-read display, which is customizable by the user. Three "hot keys" provide quick access to spindle selection, test speed, and other functions. The DV1 also features the same lab stand as on Brookfield's DV3T rheometer and DV2T viscometer, providing plenty of room for sample placement. It also offers direct access to time-measurement functions (time to torque and time to stop). Temperature measurement is optional.
