China's coal output rises 5.2% in first three months of 2009

China mined a total of 554.3 million mt of coal in the first three months of 2009, up 27.52 million mt or 5.22% year-on- year, the China National Coal Association (CNCA) said. In March alone, China mined a 201.51 million mt of crude coal, up 12.14 million mt or 6.41% month-on-month, and up 16.23 million mt or 8.75% year-on-year, according to an April 13 statement from the industry body.
