Verification of perennial ryegrass blends (Lolium perenne L.) using bulk seed storage protein electrophoresis.

Some 26 standard blends of up to 5 varieties of perennial ryegrass were compared by bulk seed storage protein electrophoresis with 389 slightly differing test blends. When visual differentiation of the banding patterns within a gel was not possibledensitometric evaluation was used. In 99% of the cases, the detection limit was at 5% of seeds not true to variety.
