European coal derivatives closed more or less flat in quiet trading Tuesday as a quiet freight market and little physical coal activity continued to stifle the paper market. At the end of the session, Platts assessed the front-quarter API2 (CIF ARA) Q4-07 contract at 102 dollars/mt, up 25 cents.
