Dalrymple Bay terminal accepts cargoes from Blackwater producers

Queensland’s Dalrymple Bay export terminal confirmed January 14, that it has been accepting deliveries of coking coal exports from coal producers in the closed Blackwater coal chain that were presently unable to export their coal through Gladstone port due to extensive flooding in the Australian state. The 68 million mt/year-capacity Blackwater rail system has been closed to coal train traffic for three weeks since December 27, cutting off its 14 coal mines’ usual export route to Gladstone port in central Queensland. Blackwater is expected to reopen progressively starting on January 20, said its operator QR National on January 13.
