Indian power generators focus on tenders for 3.7 million mt

Three Indian state-owned electricity boards (SEBs) have started to deliberate on submitted price offers for recently closed thermal coal supply tenders for a combined 3.68 million mt, sources in the Indian market said February 17. SEBs in India’s western states of Maharashtra and Gujarat have separately tendered for 1.8 million mt and 1.48 million mt of imported coal respectively, while Madhya Pradesh Generation Company (MPGenco) in central India is seeking to purchase 400,000 mt.
