Asia paraxylene closed $10 higher on Friday, settling at a three-month high of $943.50/mt FOB Korea and $958.50/mt CFR Taiwan/China. There were no participants on the Platts Market-On-Close assessment process but several deals were traded off-screen. Earlier in the day, SK Energy booked an any October cargo at $970/mt CFR Taiwan/Ningbo and during the MOC, two more October deals were reported, at $965/mt CFR and $960/mt CFR. Post-MOC, October bids were raised to $965/mt CFR for Asia origin parcels while an open origin (non-Iranian) cargo was being offered at $970/mt CFR.
