Asian low density polyethylene prices posted an on-week decline of $35/mt, in line with a fall in the entire PE complex on high inventory and receding demand. Offer prices by major producers stayed high on cost pressures at above $1,600/mt CFR FEA levels, but traders with high stocks and concerned of a further price crash after the Lunar New Year holidays had begun profit-taking on a massive scale. Offers for Iranian material were placed at $1,480/mt CFR China to no avail, while the only trades heard concluded were for deep-sea or Russian origin at $1,420/mt CFR by traders.
