LyondellBasell settled its August contract price for trucks at Eur975/mt ($1,291/mt) FCA with a number of its consumers, a LyondellBasell source said Monday afternoon. The contract represented a decrease of Eur5/mt against LyondellBasell’s July CP of Eur980/mt, compared with a larger fall on the barge CP. The LyondellBasell source said: “Margins continue to be poor for styrene and this settlement gives a slight improvement versus July. July was a raw material movement and then some downturn, which we feel was not appropriate, so this addresses that a little.” Spot prices dropped by $18.50/mt over the week.
