The US ABS price remained strong this week despite early indications that demand could be tapering off. One producer said cancellations were increasing, but there were enough customers waiting for product such that total sales have not dropped. “If you look out a few month, we have seen an increase in cancellations,” a producer said. “But we have orders waiting in line, so [the cancellations] don’t change anything for us.” The source said he expects demand for ABS to start to taper off early in the fourth quarter.
