PTA producer Artenius UK Ltd will be sold to Lotte Chemical UK, a UK-based subsidiary of South Korea’s KP Chemical Corp, joint administrators Deloitte revealed this week. Deloitte said the sale, subject to European Commission competition clearance, would result in the transfer of both the PTA and PET facilities at Wilton, Teesside. Company sources said they expected production to resume by early April, although market players described this as extremely optimistic given the technical challenge and difficulty of securing PX feedstocks.
