European producers reported a robust order book for blowmolding and injection grades in September. “The order intake is much better than we expected, it is clear that prices have touched the bottom in August and are holding stable now; the demand is definitely better now and we have to really negotiate about every Euro,” a producer said. “In injection and blowmolding grades there is no more room to give anything away [despite some expectations from converters] while the film grade is still vulnerable on pressure from ex-Middle East imports,” he added. Two other producers agreed on good volume booked in September and reported a marginal uptick in prices. One producer claimed an increase in blowmolding prices of Eur10/mt, reporting gross values at Eur1,170/mt FD NWE and said other grades were stable.
