Asian acrylonitrile prices skyrocketed over the week in response to acute supply shortages. The CFR Far East Asia, CFR South East Asia and CFR South Asia benchmarks were assessed at $1,955/mt, up 7.7%, or $140/mt from the January 12 assessed level. In South Asia, two end-users were heard willing to pay up to $,1950/mt for mid-February loading cargoes. Other deals were rumored to have been done from $1,905 to $2,010, but details were not forthcoming by the close of market assessment.
