There was little change in fundamentals in the US polypropylene market this week as higher prices were unworkable to export markets, sources said. Demand was characterized as mediocre this week. Domestic buyers were heard to be purchasing only what was need to fill orders. On the supply side, producers continued to run at reduced rates this week, and some participants estimated that the number could be as low as 70%. Sources noted that non-integrated participants were under significant pressure given the higher monomer costs in the US.
