Domestic demand for butadiene remained lackluster this week, sources said. Producers continued to look overseas for potential buyers, hoping to clear out some domestic product. However, to move to China, the US price would have to fall to nearly 6 cents below the current contract price of 65.5 cents/lb, a source said. The CFR China price on Friday was assessed at $1,625/mt, up $120 from last week. At that level, assuming $300 for shipping, the arb from the US would work for prices between 60 and 61 cents/lb.
