January ethylene values held firm this week despite a drop in ethane values. Feedstock ethane values fell sharply on the week, dropping from 81 cents/gallon on January 8 to as low as 69.25 cents/lb on January 14, before posting a slight rebound toward week’s end. Still, January ethylene maintained strength on the back of production issues in the US Gulf following freezing weather last week. Early week activity saw a string of deals with January trading at at 44, 44.25, 44.375, and 44.50 cents/lb MtB Wms respectively on Monday.
