Blow molding prices rose 3.5 cents/lb on the week on strong export demand to Europe. Traders were able to buy from the US at 64 cents/lb FAS Houston and ship to Europe with $70/mt freight to then sell into Antwerp at $1,540/mt CFR. Other traders said they could even sell higher to other spots in Europe. Traders also said that US ethane and ethylene costs were quite low compared to Europe, which was getting hit by higher naphtha prices.
