The initial Q1 CP for butadiene was reported settled today with the new value reported agreed at Eur950/mt. This represents an increase of Eur50/mt versus the Q4 CP. One source reported that given the market fundamentals the new CP represented ‘fair value.’ “The increase takes it to a level that is fair value for Dec-Jan, but I have difficulty with it for Feb-March,” was how one trader saw the change. Ineos Olefins is restricting supplies of crude C4 and C4 derivatives from its Cologne steam cracker in Germany following a technical issue last week, a company source said Thursday.The company declared force majeure on ethylene and propylene supplies from the site earlier this week. “Crude C4 supplies are reduced. Cologne supplies will be restricted in the first quarter. As a result, we are buying C4s,” the Ineos source said.
