US fertilizer-maker Terra rejects rival CF merger

Houston-US-based fertilizer producer Terra Industries said Wednesday its board of directors has unanimously agreed that an unsolicited merger proposal from rival CF Industries Holdings was not in the best interests of Terra and its shareholders. In response, CF said it remained committed to its proposal to acquire of Terra's outstanding common shares.
