The CFR China marker for PVC was assessed at $1,040/mt Wednesday, unchanged from the week before, while the CFR India and CFR Southeast Asia markers gained $5/mt over the same period to $1,075/mt and $1,065/mt, respectively, on the back of firm downstream demand in the latter regions. Offers were heard at $1,060-1,070/mt CFR China with no buyers in the market. In China, markets sources reported seeing little interest in import cargoes as domestic prices in China are competitive and the export market for finished PVC products i weak. "The market for finished products in Europe and US is not in a good shape now and thus, it has dampened the PVC resin import market," a Chinese source said.
