The Asian acrylonitrile market continued to look softer thisweek with production in downstream acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene heard to be relatively low amongproducers in China and other countries in Northeast Asia.As such, prices were assessed down $95/mt week on week to$2,500/mt CFR Far East Asia Tuesday and down $50/mt to$2,410/mt CFR Southeast Asia and $2,400/mt CFR SouthAsia. The average run rate for ABS in China has been as lowas 60% in July, one acrylonitrile seller said this week.However, there was talk of increased operations amongChinese acrylic fiber producers, at around 80% on average inJuly, market sources said.
