EDC: Activity in the ethylene dichloride market was subdued this week, with no trades reported. Price was assessed up $2.5/mt to $437.5/mt FOB NWE on the back of demand and strengthening ethylene. “I haven’t fixed anything else for August, but I received a query for September,” a source said, adding, “There is some demand going forward.” Upstream, the Northwest European ethylene spot was assessed at Eur1,010/mt ($1,430/mt) at close on Thursday, up Eur60/mt on the week following a higher CP.
