Monoethylene glycol ended higher Friday after a turbulent week. The benchmark CFR China assessment was up $13/mt or 1% week on week at $1,253/mt Friday. The weekly average was $1255.80/mt, up $14.20/mt from last week, amid increasing demand as more market participants returned to the market. Polyester and their downstream factories have largely resumed operations this week, after the long Lunar New Year shutdowns in February. Polyester factories have reported stronger sales- production ratios this week, with some even reporting ratios of 90-100%.
