As sources reported that August business have concludedwith major producers being sold out for the month, USexport prices rose $25/mt. The price was assessed at eitherside of $985/mt. Despite traders reporting weak demand,producers were pushing for price increases in September dueto concerns of global supply tightness. Last weekend a firewas reported at Taiwan Formosa Petrochemical’s Mailiaorefinery. As result of recurrent fires in that complexthroughout this year, the Taiwan government orderedFormosa to shutdown the complex in stages over the next12 months for inspections.
