The majority of NWE polystyrene converters expected to seecontracts drop by at least Eur90/mt ($128/mt), sources saidthis week. “We are after a pass-through of the styrene CP.We expect our net invoice CPs to settle at Eur1,260-1,270/mtFD NWE,” said one. Another converter was targeting a netCP of Eur1,265-1,275/mt including a full pass-through ofthe SM CP. Other converters were bidding between minusEur85-100/mt. The bids fell well short of producernominations for July but sellers conceded that demand waslikely to remain weak with activity winding down ahead ofthe start of the summer holiday period. Views on theforward market were divided with some consumersexpecting a period of stabilization in August. Producers wereclaiming the start of an improved market sentiment.
