The April propylene contract price was fully settled Tuesday at Eur1,245mt ($1,661/mt) FD NWE, up Eur50/mt from March. The initial settlement was done between producer BPRP with consumer Oxea and was followed by Ineos as a second buyer, also with BPRP. BASF followed as a second producer, with consumer LyondellBasell. All parties confirmed. The April CP matched the record-high level in May 2011. Between December 2011 and April, the monthly propylene CP has risen by Eur250/mt, or 25%, Platts data showed. The increase was the fourth month in a row and primarily driven by increased feedstock naphtha costs.
