Asian polypropylene prices fell $5-$10/mt this week on the back of plunging feedstock propylene and despite thin liquidity, especially in the Chinese market. Feedstock propylene prices fell $10/mt day on day and tanked $45/mt from a week earlier to close Wednesday at $1,460/mt FOB Korea. Most industry participants are currently in Shanghai for a major industry conference over Wednesday-Friday. The PP raffia CFR China marker fell $10/mt week on week to $1,458/mt CFR Far East Asia, with lower offers heard at $1,460-$1,500/mt CFR China levels. A Taiwanese producer was offering May cargoes at $1,630/mt CFR China. In Southeast Asia and South Asia, PP raffia prices fell $5/mt and $10/mt, respectively, to $1,500/mt CFR SEA and $1,525/mt CFR South Asia.
