Paraxylene price edged down $2/mt from Wednesday to be assessed at $1,427.50/mt FOB Korea and $1,448.50/mt CFR Taiwan/China Friday. Markets were not assessed Thursday due to a public holiday in Singapore. On a week-on-week basis, the markers were up $27/mt. Spot demand remained sluggish Friday after market participants returned from oneday holiday Thursday due to lower plant operations at downstream purified terephthalic acid plants as a strong typhoon hit East China.
