US spot refinery-grade propylene fell 1 cent/lb week on week to a Friday assessment of 35.50-36 cents/lb delivered as the market remained long on product, sources said. Spot polymer-grade propylene closed the week steady, assessed at 46.75-47.25 cents/lb in a muted market that instead focused on contract settlements that settled at 32-month lows. Buyers were able to realize a 1.5-cent/lb decrease on the August contracts given continued weakness in the spot market, with the the PGP price heard settled marketwide at 50.50 cents/lb, the lowest since hitting 49.50 cents/lb in November 2009.
