Ethylene contract price in Mexico had a slight increase of3.3% for July over last month but with tendencies to go downfor August, said a Pemex source. After the hike, the ethylenecontract price for the Mexican domestic market was heard at$1,392/mt FOB. In production news, Pemex’s Pajaritos crackerwas delayed in coming back on line from a maintenanceshutdown that started on June 19. “Due to technicalproblems, we are late eight days to put the cracker on lineagain, but Friday or Saturday we should be resuming normaloperations,” the source said. As a result, the company did notproduce 3,200 mt of ethylene, but it should cause no impacton derivates because 8,000 mt of inventory was built up forthe occasion.
