To compete in the international LLDPE market, USprices would have to be in the low 60’s cents/lb FASHouston, sources said. However, with spot ethylene in themid-60’s cents/lb range, producers would be better off sellingspot ethylene than LLDPE. There was an offer talked at 69cents/lb delivered to Houston in railcars but traders had nointerest as they could buy LLDPE from China at $1,300/mt FOB.
