Spot PX moved down $28/mt week-on-week Friday. After theMemorial Day holiday in the US on Monday, the US PXassessment was at $1,568-1,573/mt FOB USG for the next twodays on a stable price in Europe. In the absence of any bids,offers, or trades heard, the US Gulf Coast price was assessed ata netback to the US East Coast price, which itself is pegged offthe PX price in Europe. However, sources indicatedWednesday that BP offered PX at $1,550/mt FOB USG or DDPUS East Coast, resulting in an assessment of $1,540-1,545/mtFOB USG. Prices remained near that level for the rest of theweek. The PX contract price in Asia for June was settled at$1,500/mt CFR, down $105/mt from May’s contract price.
