European ABS natural grade contract prices were expected tosettle below Eur2,000/mt ($2,827/mt) in July, impacted byweak demand, ample supply and pressure from softer feedstocks, according to sources. Contracts expected to settleas low as Eur1,980/mt, Eur60/mt down versus the Platts Juneassessment. The price decrease was greater than producersexpected as exporters from Asia, particularly from Korea,had sought European opportunities as Chinese demand wasweak. Korean producers were benefiting from the phasingout of import duties into the EU with the rate having fallenfrom 6.5% to 4.9% from July.
