The US spot propylene market seemed to hold relatively firm this week, resisting, at least temporarily, the pronounced downward movement seen in the energy complex and other petrochemical markets. “We’re not reacting to the selloff,” a veteran trader said. “Propylene remains strong.” Spot refinery-grade propylene gained .50 cents/lb week on week, assessed Friday on either side of 69.75 cents/lb after trading as high as 70 cents/lb for August.
