Asian high density polyethylene prices were assessed $10-25/mt lower week on week Wednesday, with the exception of HDPE yarn grade. Losses were in part attributed to lower raw material costs. Feedstock ethylene prices slumped $15/mt week on week to $1,156/mt CFR NEA and slid $10/mt over the same period to $1,161/mt CFR SEA. In China, offers were placed at $1,370- 1,440/mt CFR for HDPE film grade product delivered in September, with trades concluded at $1,370-1,380/mt. Little activity was detected for the blow molding and injection grades, while yarn prices transacted and were assessed $15/mt higher week on week at $1,460/mt CFR China, with existing offers placed at $1,460-1,520/mt CFR amid scarcer supplies. Chinese domestic prices of HDPE film closed Yuan 100/mt lower, at around Yuan 11,300-11,500/mt in East China, equating to $1,421-1,446/mt on an import parity basis. Meanwhile, HDPE film parcels changed hands $10/mt higher in Southeast Asia.
