Asian acrylonitrile continued to gain this week, jumping $40/mt to be assessed at $2,650/mt CFR Far East Asia and up $45/mt to $2,655/mt CFR Southeast Asia. The price range was roughly $2,600/mt versus $2,700/mt on a CFR basis all over Asia, market sources said this week, with some also saying bids were at $2,650/mt CFR Far East Asia. End-users in the acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene segment, however, would be able to accept higher prices than end-users in the acrylic fibre segment, sources said. A Chinese acrylic fibre producer said it was alright to run at 100% at the moment, but she was worried that the cost push from ACN would narrow margins in the following month.
