European ethylene spot prices were $5/mt firmer week-on-week, assessed at Eur890/mt ($1,203/mt) FD NWE Friday, onthe back of a drawdown of inventories. Producers’ spot offerswere heard at Eur920/mt FD NWE. “The offers that werebelow Eur900/mt before were just distress selling,” a producersaid, adding: “Now the market has destocked, those offershave disappeared.” Buyers remained on the sidelines, withderivative offtake still under pressure.
