CFR MARKETS: The CFR China PVC price slid $5/mt weekon week to be assessed at $1,216/mt Wednesday, ending asteady run of price increases that began January 12. The CFRSoutheast Asia price also came off $5/mt from the previousweek to $1,216/mt. Supplies of Asia-origin cargoes remainedlimited this week amid unstable operations at Formosa Plastics’420,000 mt/year PVC plant at Mailiao due to a VCM feedstockshortage. Formosa’s VCM inventory was reported to be low dueto an emergency shutdown of its 720,000 mt/year VCM uniton May 12 after an LPG pipeline fire.
