The US ethylene market gained 0.625 cents/lb week on week, assessed stable Friday on either side of 63.625 cents/lb on a 3- to 30-days basis as tightness in the market and strong feedstocks to kick off the week helped the commodity ride out Thursday’s energy selloff. Platts’ spot ethylene assessment averaged 63.80 cents/lb for the week, a level not seen since H1 June. Market sources reported ethylene was last traded Wednesday at 64.50 cents/lb for August in late trading.
