Falling feedstock styrene prices put a stop to any planned Juneprice increases, market sources said during the past week.“There will be no increases in June,” a producer said, “but theMay increases were firm.” The rises in May pushed the high-impact polystrene price over 100 cents/lb, with the assessmenton Wednesday at 105 cents/lb delivered. The general-purposepolystyrene price was talked in the low to mid-90s cents/lbrange. With butadiene prices continuing to climb on tightsupplies, the high-impact price was pegged at an 11 to 12-centspremium over the general purpose price, a source said. Thatdelta would put the general purpose price between 93-95cents/lb, down slightly from last week.
