Asian purified terephthalic acid was rangebound throughout the week and closed Friday at $1,509/mt CFR China for Taiwan origin cargoes. Week on week, PTA gained $39 or 2.65% even as paraxylene feedstock fell $7 or 0.42% to close at a three-week low of $1,653/mt CFR Taiwan/China Friday. PTA has shown resilience despite the volatile futures market.
