EDC: Asian ethylene dichloride rose $7/mt week on weekThursday to be assessed at $276/mt CFR Far East Asia and gained $6/mt over the same period to $286/mt CFR SoutheastAsia. The rise follows Japan’s Tosoh shutting its 1.2 millionmt/year EDC plant at Nanyo after an explosion and fire at thecomplex on Sunday. But despite that, there was no supplyshortage in the market, with US-origin cargoes offered twoweeks ago already en route to Asia.
